Course Description:    

This course is an opportunity to explore different aspects of mathematics and technology in a creative and more hands on way. Some of the topics that we  may cover are Fantasy Sports, Magic Squares, Finances, Fractions, Sudoku and Spatial Visualization. We will be getting into subjects that can possibly lead to exciting careers.  We will complete assignments in groups (2-4 students) and as individuals.    This class exists to help you consider math, science, engineering, and technology as your friends. 

Grade Breakdown:

Classwork:    60%

Projects :       40%

Rules and Responsiblities:

1.    Come prepared to class everyday.  Everyone will be provided with a folder and a pencil which will remain in the classroom.  About five sheets of paper, your agenda, and AR book  is all you then need to bring each day.  Come prepared and ready to learn.

2.    Respect others and their property.  We do not look down on or talk bad about anyone in this class.  There are no wrong questions, so we will not make fun of someone for trying their best.  Also, keep hands to yourself, leaving other student’s property alone.

3.    Never give up.  During class activities, I never want to hear the words “I quit” or “I’m not good at math”.  The purpose of this class is to make you a better student and to prepare you for certain things you will face in the future.  So, never say that you can’t do something………Always try, try, try.
